Bubble Fresh

May 16, 2019

Hey food truck nation!

Summer is pretty much here already and it’s feeling hot, hot, hot! Is there any better way to cool off than drinking a delicious and cold Bubble Fresh tea?! Nikola and Kevin are the proud owners of Bubble Fresh and you can find them constantly on the move serving different spots all over Miami, Florida. Bubble Fresh is introducing Boba tea to the food truck scene, so we had to find out more.

It all started when Kevin and Nikola met at a Boba Tea store a few years back. They were both looking at the menu hoping they’d find something they could both have and not break their diets. Both were very much attracted to the environment and ambiance of that Boba tea store. Never having seen a food truck serving Boba tea, they decided it was the perfect market niche and decided to take a leap of faith together and started their very own food truck. Earlier this year, Nikola moved from Los Angeles to Miami to make this dream a reality and they have not looked back since. Kevin was immediately drawn to the food truck concept instead of a brick and mortar establishment because he would have so much more time to dedicate to creating more menu items and was able to interact with customers on a more personal level. Together they opened “pop up” spots all over Miami, from office buildings all the way to farmers markets.

Kevin had always a passion for all types of Asian cooking and was lucky enough to have interned and learned the most while working in some of the most famous kitchens in Beijing, China. At Bubble Fresh, Kevin is responsible for the food and you can thank him for all the seriously tasty dishes he’s created and added to the menu. Nikola got all of her knowledge while running her very own successful restaurant in Guangzhou, China and had event spent some time working and learning at the Boba Tea Shop in Los Angeles. Nikola has a very special gift when it comes to knowing the subtle differences in flavors of every tea and can make a perfectly balanced batch of boba tea every time!

So, what exactly is Boba tea? Boba tea is originally from Taiwan and has recently begun taking the world by storm. The boba aka the small and chewy balls at the base of the tea are made primarily from tapioca and the tea portion is mixed with milk and paired with different flavors. Kevin and Nikola took things a step further to assist their customers when ordering by including menu labels so customers could easily distinguish between what is an authentic Asian flavor (black) and what is organic (green). Bubble Fresh is also very proud to serve vegan options for their customers.

So, what should you order the next time you stop by Bubble Fresh? We got you covered! The Kung Bao fried rice is one of their best selling items and we now know why. They use authentic Sichuan spices within this fried rice which gives the rice a sweet and sour taste. Definitely not your average fried rice, but that’s what makes it so delicious. You can pair your fried rice with their savory chicken (all their chicken thighs are seasoned to perfection and grilled. No additional oils are ever added while grilling and grease has been reduced by over 60%!). Their Super Fruit Tea is their bestselling tea beverage. It features jasmine, green tea and has seven different types of diced fruit including strawberry, mango, kiwi, apple, lime, lemon and orange. This tea is what we want our summers to be full of! There is no doubt Bubble Fresh has tons of scrumptious dishes to try so run, don’t walk!

Bubble Fresh is bringing new and exciting flavors and teas to the Miami food truck scene and we couldn’t have been happier to highlight all the hard work they’ve invested into their craft. It is amazing what an idea, passion and ingenuity can get you. We want to thank Kevin and Nikola for taking the time to sit with us and share their amazing story with us! This, my friends, is definitely FTG approved.
