Mr Comelon

March 7, 2019

Hey food truck nation!

This week we have taken over one of Pinecrest’s finest food trucks, Mr. Comelon! This Venezuelan food truck is serving up some seriously tasty dishes with nothing but the finest and freshest ingredients. Jesus Carmona and his team are the heart and soul behind Mr. Comelon; they work tirelessly to bring Miami their mouthwatering Venezuelan creations every day.

Jesus moved to the United States from Venezuela in pursuit of better opportunities and we can assure you, he has found them! He is literally living the American dream – owning his own business doing what he loves most. Jesus’s passion for food started when he was very young and learned how to make real authentic Venezuelan cuisine. He described his love for food as an intense passion that not only pleases the palette, but also satisfies the heart. He started his very own food truck to celebrate the food of his country and share it with all of Miami. Jesus’s favorite item on the menu is their Hamburguesa Comelona or Comelona Hamburger. This little number is served with tender beef, savory chicken, and a smoked pork chop. It is then topped with a fried egg, fresh tomatoes, onions, cheese, and lettuce and is served with French fries. Wow, is all we have to say!

So, we had to ask, just which menu items you all should order the next time you pass by Mr. Comelon. The fan favorites are their savory arepas. They are stuffed with perfectly cooked meat or chicken and topped with your choice of Gouda or white CHEESE! The next item is their tequenos, which are also known as Venezuelan cheese fingers. Deliciously crunch on the outside; warm, and gooey white cheese on the inside. Need we say more? Last, but not least is their pepitos! This sandwich is no finger food… It is loaded with their succulent meat of your choice, fresh greens and you guessed it! The cheese of your choice. I think it is safe to say that you can never go wrong with any item on the menu!

In the next few years, Jesus wants to continue to expand and serve more areas in Florida so that more and more people are able to enjoy authentic Venezuelan cuisine. You can find Jesus and his team on most nights at the corner of 77 avenue and 98 Street in Miami from 6pm-2am. If you are looking for a family-friendly place to have a good time with loved ones with out of this world food, then look no further than Mr. Comelon! We want to thank Mr. Comelon for taking the time to share his story and meet with us! Another FTG approved food truck for the books!

Until next time,

Kellee O.
