Hey food truck nation!
We have scoured the streets of Miami to find a food truck that would spice up our Taco Tuesday and we found just the one in O’rale Pana! Julia Saez and Israel Gomez are the proud owners of O’rale Pana which is made up of a fusion of delicious Venezuelan and Mexican cuisines. Everyday their cranking out some out of this world favorites like tacos, empanadas and arepas!
It’s safe to say that Julia and Israel grew up with a passion for cooking and learned as much as they could while being in the kitchen. Like many, they had dreams of coming to the United States to start their own business and live the “American dream”. About three years ago, they made the big move to the United States. After two years of hard work, saving and planning, it was finally time to make their dreams a reality and open O’rale Pana. They wanted to stay true to their roots and decided to cook Venezuelan dishes, but wanted something to set them apart from other food trucks in the area. So, they decided to include authentic Mexican ingredients and flavors to their traditional Venezuelan meals to create an insanely delicious fusion! Next, was determining how to decorate their unique food truck. After about three months to deliberation, they decided on a classic black truck with an elegant design in bright, fun colors. And, if you look closely, you will even see the skyline of Caracas, Venezuela. This was their way of paying homage to the beautiful country they are from.
Julia and Israel especially loved opening a food truck to be able to interact with their customers on a more personal level than you would be able to if you ran a restaurant. When you stop by O’rale Pana, you immediately feel welcomed and part of the family. All dishes are made right on the spot, so customers know they’re always getting the freshest ingredients in their meals. Some of their most requested menu items are their tasty alpastor tacos and their sensational bacon burger. The bacon burger was incredible to say the least. Julia and Israel create each one by hand. Julia starts by seasoning the hamburger meat with a secret blend of spices, then she forms the patty, wraps each in bacon and cooks them to perfection. This burger is then topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, caramelized onions, cheese, papitas (fried potato sticks) and their secret sauce. All we have to say is… Run, don’t walk!
O’rale Pana is mostly family ran and those that are not technically family are considered so because they have been there from the beginning, working together to make this food truck a success. And, it is safe to say that all their hard work has paid off. In the future, Julia and Israel would like to open another food truck or even a restaurant. But, for now they are proud of their business and are excited to see it grow more as they travel to different parts of South Florida to spread their delicious cuisine. We want to thank Julia and Israel for taking the time to sit with us and share their amazing story. This food truck my friends, is without a doubt, FTG approved!
Until next time,
